Can't wait to assembli

It's time! It's time to give my little Lloyd a nice bedroom. For the past few months it has only been a place to sleep in combined with storage of all sort of stuff that shouldn't be in his room. We're in the Netherlands at the moment and shopping with blog friends I came across this paper bear trophy head by Assembli. Apparently it isn't for the impatient ones cause it takes a few hours to assemble. But I feel up to the challenge. My lovely little boy deserves a nice room. I've chosen the ice blue color as it reminds me of my blog header. Besides the bear you can also get a rhino and a hippo.

A dark chocolate sleeping feast

You've seen the brand RAFA KIDS on my blog before and now they have a very delicious new color for their teen bed: Dark Chocolate. Want to see this beautiful bed in person? Make sure you make it to the Inside Design Amsterdam organized by Elle Decoration. That's where they'll show it to the public for the first time. Always very exciting. For now, let's enjoy this beautiful styled image.

Hoping and dreaming and someday maybe sleeping....

Imagine having creative parents. And than imagine a creative parent that is also very DIY handy or has the number of a great carpenter. It's combinations like these that result in sleeping arrangements such as this HUT. It was posted last march on OEUF le blog and although many tutorials were requested no reply could be found. So if you don't have the above mentioned parent you're stuck watching this image and hoping and dreaming....

Continue the night with your head in the clouds

Don't get me wrong. I'm over the moon happy with the blue skies we're having over the Netherlands these days. Didn't mind the clouds and rain either cause it already was soo much better than the haze we experienced in Singapore.
But when clouds come as cute as these I have to give them a spot on my blog. Spotted on Pinterest which lead me to this site that sells them. This pretty headboard allows you to not only spend the days with your head in the clouds but also the nights.

An easy dose of adding some color

Such a cute decoration idea for adding a bit of color to a room or a party. A garland of colorful felt in circles and traingles. Available at the Land of Nod in every color you can think of. The Land of Nod is also one of the Instagram accounts that I really enjoy following. They are opening a few new shops in the US and show you in steps how they DIY decorate them.

The best toddler bed ever

After about 16 months of (not allways voluntarily) cosleeping we're considering getting our little boy a toddler bed. Looking online at the options I came across this amazing junior bed by Kalon Studios called Caravan Divan. Available in several detail colors that will suit your kidsroom decor. I love the legs, the little differences in wood color and the attention of detail. And yes, they can live up to their slogan.

Such a lovely vintage room

I love thrifting and therefor have so many vintage toys, puzzles and books for kids. A room like this (seen on the Family Living website) is a cute inspiration. However somehow when decorating a kidsroom I stick to a more modern atmosphere. Must find a good way to blend the two. Still have 2 boysrooms to decorate here in Singapore so a good challenge ahead of me.

Where will I find the patience to wait for all THIS?

Can I please get a big CHEER for the new Littlephant collection. I discovered them when they just sold Swedish books and cute posters. Their website had an announcement for Interior and more kids stuff to come and I just couldn't wait. This is their second seasons of those products and my o my they just keep getting more cute, more desirable and more a neccassity. Still need a bit of patience for these goodies to hit the stores but I love looking through their new catalogue.

Posters that tell a story

How cute are these prints by ISAK that tell the sweetest kids stories. I'm not sure that I know what the top one is. If anyone wants to fill me in please feel free!

Boys room, ship ahoy!

What a great boys room! With wallpaper by Fine Little Day, a String shelving system the lovely Mr Moon poster and cute vintage additions and cool collectibles. It's inside the house of the also very nice Moccasin owners. Found on the Lovely Life blog. A great site you must visit for more inspiration.

Clever decorating by Weekdaycarnival

Those who read my Lille Lykke blog know I'm a big fan of Weekdaycarnival. She always has great clean and crisp decorations with fun little additions. These are some pictures she has posted of an update on her daughters room. I absolutely love the idea of cutting your own shapes out of honeycomb balls. These diamond shaped ones are much more 'today'.

Some room inspiration

These are some really fun kidsrooms with lots of personality. It shows that you'll get great results if you go just a little bit further than the standard furniture and some decorations. Found on the Swedish Family LIVING website.

Whihoee, it's time for a kids collection

Keep your eyes open for the coming Autumn season of H&M as they're starting a kids range in their HOME collection. And how great are these log items (storage bin and pillow) and the bear and fox products.  The little baskets on the floor in the first picture, the bedding and that orange towel are going home with me! See more of the next season preview on Hus och Hem.

Geometric shaped play house aka mat

You can always expect something creative from the Weekdaycarnival blog from Finland. Just like this little playhouse a.k.a. playmat that you can just zip together. She used the fabric from Finlayson. And if you love the bunkbed... It's Aalto + Aalto and the great TIGER poster is by Ingela P Arrhenius. You can buy this at one of our sponsors.

Light, spacious and a dash of retro

How about these lovely rooms for kids! Combining retro wallpaper with restored retro furniture and a crisp white base. Instant atmosphere if you ask me! This house also has some great other rooms and an amazing light spacious feel to it. Check out our Lille Lykke blog to see some of the other rooms.

Original and fun shopping

Tired of shopping on the high street and on the look out for some original designs. For cushions, aprons, canvas bags etc make sure you check out Envelop. This is a website where designers from all over the world post their work for a standard range of products. For instance here I'm showing you the work of French Mélusine Allirol.

Get creative with wallpaper

I love this way of decorating a wall with retro wallpaper. All you have to do is see if you can find a shop that sells the paper per meter. I know you can get this at RetroVilla or Swiet (Belgium). Than you finish it with a desk shelve at the bottom and a decoration shelve at the top.
I'm sure the kids also love the little matrass on the floor filled with cute playful cushions. Ideal spot to enjoy a little book or play with your dolls.

Jodeladi Jodeladi yayyyy....

As a new mom I get warnings that with your firstborn you always are searching for the next new thing your baby can do. As if you are staring them to being a toddler. I'm worse, I already have ideas for decorating the room when he is a four year old. It all started with the first image that I came across on Pinterest by Decopeques. I even was in doubt if this would be acceptable for a nursery... Now my love for the Alpes scenery has grown with these images found on Family Living. Easily combined with cable cars, birch trees and little forest friends. Good luck getting this out of my mind!
