Illustrations with a bit of humor

Je zult me niet snel betrappen op van die vrolijke namen geplakt op de slaapkamer deuren. Prima bij anderen maar niet helemaal mijn smaak. Moet wel zeggen dat ik gevoelig blijk te zijn voor de alphabet blocks van illustratrice Eleanor Stuart uit Engeland. Iedere strakke letter krijgt net even een leuk grapje mee. Of het nou een bergbeklimmer is, een maanlandschap of een drillend mannetje. Met een prettige afmeting van 15x15 cm is het leuk om op deze manier de naam boven een bedje te hangen.
You won't see the colorful names of my kids on their bedroom door. Fine for others but it has never been my style. However... I must say I'm quite fond of these bold alphabet blocks with ABC images with little fun additions from British illustrator Eleanor Stuart. With the nice small size of 15x15 cm you can easily put your kids name above their bed.

Make sure the older kids don't have any homework that needs to be done first because once you get started there is no stopping to see the result grow and grow. A great idea to keep kids entertained without anything starting with an 'i'.

How cute are these prints by ISAK that tell the sweetest kids stories. I'm not sure that I know what the top one is. If anyone wants to fill me in please feel free!

To brighten up your breakfast

I really like the quirky illustrations by Ulrika Gustafsson for Plingsulli. First learned about her from the designs she's done for the Ferm LIVING collection and now she also has some really nice cutting boards, trays and dolls in her own shop. Make sure you check out this shop.

Fake it!

How adorable are these little fake tattoos for kids. I'd even wear them. At TATTYOO they have designs for kids, adults, wedding you name it. Just as long as it is fun! What I love is the collaboration with some great artists such as some of my favourites like Ingela P Arrhenius and Darling Clementine.

I'm over the moon happy with this new print by One must dash, a creative print company by Anneli and Anki. Like it says on their website 'Two girls in a hurry making decorative things twinkly-eyed'. Make sure you check out their website for more prints, postcards and tea towels.

How cute is this birthday cake!

First of all I have to give my compliments to the mom baking this cake for her daughters birthday. I totally love the look of the rainbow cake and think the baking must take a lot of patience. But than.... will you look at this frosting layer. What an amazing idea to have your kid decorate their own birthday cake. I totally, absolutely, enormously LOVE IT! New discovery. I love Instragram as you get to peak into other peoples life and inspiration. That's also how I learned about Corby Tindersticks. Love their shirts with great detailed illustrations and applications of buttons and emboidery. And their felt little posters. Unfortunately this grey one is sold out otherwise it would be on our walls I can asure you! And the quircky dolls are also Corby Tindersticks designs. And the good news is that Rotterdam based webshop Shak-Shuka (my IG source) will stock some of their collection in the near future.

New in the Darling Clementine collection

Darling Clementine has expended their great 'Little Wonders' illustrations from postcards to these great kitchen articles. The cups, little plates, bowls, placemats and trays will soon be available for retail. With cute prints like this I'm sure they'll be a huge succes. I'm aiming for a little cup and the placemat with mushroom and mouse.

I feel a lot of love

Meet some new items from the Danish Ferm LIVING spring 2012 collection. They've collaborated with illustrator Ulrika Gustafsson for this new kids product line and very succesfully I must say. This would not be hidden behind the doors of a juniors room. This can take the main stage in someones living room if you ask me. The little music mobile is definately going on my wish list and the bean bag is something I will be saving for.
